Fuck Prime to hell and back!
"The Wheel of Time was cancelled by Prime Video primarily due to financial reasons, specifically high production costs versus viewership, leading to a difficult cost-benefit analysis for Season 4, despite the show's creative improvements and strong fan base. Even though executives liked the series creatively, the decision was driven by the economics of streaming and Amazon's focus on profitability, especially compared to other expensive fantasy shows like The Rings of Power."

The Amazon Prime TV adaptation of "The Wheel of Time" has been widely lauded for its diverse, inclusive cast—featuring actors of Black, Asian, and Aboriginal Australian descent—which modernized the fantasy genre by prioritizing varied representation in race, age, and body type. Critics praised this approach for providing a fresh, contemporary take on the source material.

Should have known. Fresh, diverse takes on material with an existing fan base doesn't have a great track record.

I was a loyal member of their fan base and female and non-white actors never bothered me.

I'm not the one who supports policies that actual harm minorities.
Wanting adaptations to remain loyal to the source material isn't racism, moron prig.

I heard about this several months ago, though maybe it wasn't officially announced until now, or something. I was just on the verge back then of deciding to take the risk of watching the existing three seasons (" Hey, it's Prime Video -- not trigger-happy Netflix -- they're not going to cancel it this far in.") But then word of the axe falling came, and I assumed Season 3 either ended on a cliffhanger or left a lot of loose strings dangling. So that was that.

I've read the books. If I hadn't paid for them (charity shop) I'd have given up after book 1.

And yet I'm not the one always bitching about female and non-white actors in series.

Yeah, again, you're a lefty. Diversity, for its own sake, is part of your ideology. Even when that means diversity/token hires that aren't based on the merit of faithfully serving the source material. And then you whine about it failing. 9_9
There are plenty of great roles done by women and minorities. Ellen Ripley, every Denzel Washington role, etc.. It's when they go erasing white and male roles, like in Hans Christian Andersen stories or Ghostbusters, that is becomes tokenism... like they can't manage to write good roles for women or minorities, so they need to offer up the charity of white or male roles.
That's either creatively bankrupt or outright infantilizing. And the ratings/views usually reflect that, leading to box office losses or series cancellations.
