A cult flick I'd somehow never even heard of before, much less seen.
Regardless of whether anyone has ever acknowledged it, this is apparently an inspirational template or cinematic ancestor of "Pearl".
Starts out kind of eccentrically interesting (misfit with a lazy eye), but the tumble into girl-slasher status has all been seen before. And yet, this much older film shouldn't be penalized for what the later movies generically borrowed (that one might have watched first).
Of course, "May" has a silver screen genealogy itself, going back decades to films like "The Bad Seed".
