RELATED (scivillage): Hell or High Water ..... Sicario
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Basically a thoughtful public service message concerning missing, murdered indigenous women. And a keen admonition about not running when the air you're breathing is 20 degrees below zero (altitude, etc).
87% rating. Won a Cannes Film Festival award. Graham Greene, who played the reservation lawman, died in September of this year.
The only one of the four films ("Sicario", its sequel, and "Hell or High Water") directed by an American: Taylor Sheridan himself.
Set in Wyoming, and accordingly the nearest conception to "Yellowstone" (ranch in the state above), which debuted on the Paramount Network circa a year and a half later.
High Country News criticized the film for being another "white guy" production perpetuating the "dying Indians" motif.
