VIDEO EXCERPTS: Today, I especially want to report about the inflation in my country, which is Austria. [...] Here they are saying that the price increase is primarily due to high cost of natural gas, heating oil and clothing items. ... So the inflation in Austria doesn't seem to take a break, and we are doing worse than other European countries right now.

Also, next topic, we have a problem with agriculture. [...] If you are buying some food in the store, and you pay €100, only four out of those €100 go to the farmer. The rest is devoured by logistics -- supply chain, the dealer, and the rest of the middlemen.

[...] So because of the farmer often working 80 hours for a really low salary, a lot of farmers are quitting their jobs, closing their farms. So here you can see a statistics. In the 1970s we had 387,000 farmers, but now in 2023 we only had like 140,000 farmers .

So, a lot of young people say they don't want to do the farming job anymore, and they'd rather quit and work something else. And that's a huge problem, of course, because if you're a country you want to have a certain amount of food security. You don't want to import all it from abroad,

A lot of those small farms have closed down, primarily because of the pressure that was caused by joining the European Union. Because of the European Union, we now get a lot of food which is really cheap, and local farmers cannot compete.

[...] Next, Chinese car manufacturers are pushing into the European market. According to a study, the Chinese automakers have a big cost advantage and although there are tariffs on the products, they are very often much cheaper than the cars from Western manufacturers...
