Peace Bridge Traffic

By now a.lot. of you know I travel the Niagara River Pkwy quite frequently. On days when I hit the road for Fort Erie , I pass directly under one end of the Peace Bridge. At this location I am only yards.away from Canada Customs for truckers entering Canada. It's so close I could hop a short fence and easily knock on a trucker's cab door. Very easy to count the trucks. As I approach the bridge it's quite easy to see traffic heading over bridge to USA..
So with all.the tariff talk I thought I'd do a count each time I pass by. Today at 10 am there were 9 trucks at Canada Customs plus I counted 4 semis heading stateside. So today didn't look much different than a lot of days.
Will it get worse or better.? I'll let you know over next few. weeks.

Too many trucks to count coming into Canada this morning. I did see one auto carrier which surprised me. However there was next to nothing heading towards the States. This was all around 10 am. Before you get to the Peace Bridge there is a railway bridge that crosses the river connecting both countries. Other day they caught a Colombian guy trying to get into Canada via the bridge. Authorities as far as I know handed him over to USA. No drugs, just a lone Colombian.
There’s a number of lookouts along the Canadian side where one can pull their vehicle over and sightsee the river. Lots of ice flowing towards Niagara Falls right now. Anyways when police spot an auto in these areas they are checking them out. I figure they suspect that person may be waiting for someone to cross into Canada via the water route. Dangerous any time of year.

Not looking too good this morning at 9am. One tractor trailer clearing Canadian Customs and absolutely no traffic on bridge except for one pickup heading to USA. I remember times when the traffic heading to the States would be backed up 10 kms. Electronic signs would warn drivers of wait times at the border. No waiting these days. A lot of Customs guys and gals both sides don’t have much to do right now.
