In the latest episode of Cancel Culture Theater, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has announced plans to decolonize Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Which is weird, because Stratford-upon-Avon wasn't colonized by Britain -- it's just in Britain.
Britain didn't colonize itself. Although it does now seem to be colonized by communist morons [literary intellectuals] who tried to make everything racist.
Even Shakespeare, who was born in 1564, so wouldn't have been around enough sub-Saharan Africans to actually develop racism.
But according to the Woke-ists who curate our heritage, venerating Shakespeare as a universal genius now benefits the ideology of white European supremacy.

West centric worldviews that continue to do harm in the world today. By harm, she presumably means support civilization and provide a modern standard of living for billions of people.
In response to this academic study, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust plans to explore the continued impact of empire on its collections and how Shakespeare's work has played a part in this. Which reveals their historical ignorance, as Shakespeare's writing was all done in the couple of decades or so from the 1590s until his death in 1616. This is well before the British Empire got going in any meaningful sense beyond a few trading posts.
But who needs to be historical when you can be hysterical?
