Deathbed advice # 79: "Don't jump off the diving board just because everybody else is doing it. We all know it kinda hurts and gets water in your nose. And they usually end up just laughing at you. Just stay in the nice warm pool and enjoy yourself."

I remember my wise sister Deborah once telling me there are two movements to living your life: you can open up and outward, or you can close yourself off. I have never forgotten that, always asking myself "am I opening up to life, or am I closing myself off from it?" One is the way of discovery and love, and the other is the way of avoidance and fear. Which will you choose?
