Today in sports

Despite outnumbered and not initiating the attack, British soccer fans were able to hold off angry Dutch supporters in Dortmund today. Dutch should have known better and their foe was probably peaceful British soccer fans.

Maybe someday when insurgents challenge the sovereignty of England all they have to do is unleash their soccer fans to restore order and crush the rebellion.

Soccer fans are tip of the rainbow, fervent bowls and cricket fans in reserve.

You might well have heard of 'Manchester United' - a footnall team .. well guess were I grew up? .. right within the sphere of influence of 'Man. Utd'. The rules were - If you supported a different team ('Man City' being a favourite) they attacked .. or not white .. they attacked ..or random (fun times) .. they attacked. The attacks involved a group of 5 or more who would punch the victim until they fell to the ground - after which the victim would be kicked on the ground. The damage done was intentionally 'light' .. the police couldn't have dismissed routine killing in the same same way as they did this style of attack .. so everyone was happy.

Maybe the soccer supporting thugs have gone away, maybe they're hiding in plain sight .. I don't know .. all I know is that "cannon fodder" is what springs first to mind whenever I hear about football supporters.
