I probably never gave much thought to the idea of him even still being alive.
But I knew he was of Ashkenazi heritage as soon as I heard the age. For the same reason, look for William Shatner (93) to at least make it to 95, if not reach 100.
In contrast, Clint Eastwood (also 93) is just some kind of gentile anomaly. Or maybe it's the luck of literally being descended from a Mayflower passenger.
