EXCERPT: Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are widely considered to be on Trump’s vice-presidential shortlist, joining the ranks of non-Catholic front-runners like South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and former Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. Another possible Catholic VP, according to both political pundits and odds-makers, is Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas.

"Surest sign" yet that Trump wants to run the US like the mafia (Sicilian Catholic style)

INTRO: Donald Trump intends to make government a family affair, as if he did not do enough of that in his first term. This week, it was reported that if Trump should win again, his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr, will take a formal role in his administration.

Through that term there was a litany of such incidents: refusals to prosecute his opponents or steal the election, or to enact illegal executive orders.
The Trumps want to make sure nothing like the rule of law stops them doing what they want should they get a second time around.
There is, of course, a term for an enterprise that values loyalty above all else, expects its associates to act outside the law, and which operates as a family affair: it is usually referred to as a mafia. If it was ever in doubt that Donald Trump intended to make the US a mafia state, that moment has long since passed... (MORE - details)
