The movie is set on the International Space Station, occupied by American astronauts and Russian cosmonauts. Lots of comraderie, they are all a big happy family in space.
They are in the cupola admiring the view of Earth, when many bright flashes are seen down on the surface. A nuclear war has broken out!
Before communications with the surface is lost, both the Americans and Russians receive orders from their governments to take control of the ISS by any means necessary.
