DON'T load the new ITunes software!

I kept getting a pop-up asking me to load the new ITunes software, and when I finally said yes, all my songs sounded like crap. Some you couldn't hear the singing, while others were like different renditions of the same song. Fortunately I had the old software backed up and promptly deleted the new file. Anyone have a similar experience with this?
