Relentless Marxist propaganda 'encouraging' teachers - especially radicalized feminist ones - to (over)compensate for 'historical anti-female gender biases' is one possibility.
Not just in scoring, but teaching climate too. From prep school onward. Suggested in last part of article.
Another is the academically destructive effect of decidedly male oriented online video gaming activity. Hours better spent studying.
