I haven't been much of a home improvement guy, the main reason for that is literally not really having a home that I called my own which didn't really give me much of an incentive to make any changes, moderations or adaptions to what existed where I lived.
Since currently I've been trying to square things up in the new place I've moved into, I've started to turn my hand to some DIY. The problem is that while I might have watched my father years ago doing things, it's trying to remember what he would have done and attempt to use my own ingenuity to work it out along the way. (Obviously I do get a few "bodges" but hopefully they'll reduce with the learning curve).
Here's some tips that you might already know in regards to Drilling:

Here's some tips that you might already know in regards to Drilling:
- When drilling a hole in a wall and using a wall plug, use a drill-bit the size of the wall plug. (using one too small means the plug won't sink into the hole properly and could cause issues later on)
- When drilling the hole drill at most to the depth of the screw, even if the wall plug is actually shorter. (The wall plug should sit flush with the wall even if the screw when screwed down sinks through it.)
