A dignified response to electoral campaigns

I think the republican presidency was an effort to undermine American democracy (if such a thing still exists). The ancient Greeks were instrumental in providing us with what we know today as Western culture. The federal republic of Mexico's political system is somewhat influenced to a large extent by American tradition. Canada has departed somewhat in its pursuit of politics. But is this really for the better?
