i thought it would be nice to have a thread where people can hang out and chat, catch up on things life people themselves etc.

whats up in my world
i finished building some wooden exterior stairs
my sister is pregnant with twins
my brother resigned from his career
my other brother got married
my best friends partner is tragically dying of cancer due to die any day

my family are mostly ok
my mum is getting on in age and im worried often about her getting sick

none of the family have caught covid thankfully

& i thought i had lost the email address to the user profile for this website, but i found my user name and password

Definitely a challenge to protect elderly parents or grandparents the last couple of years, especially if they're already suffering from other conditions.

Hopefully, he resigned to become an emu rancher or set up his own business or something... "pursue the big personal dream".

Exterior wooden stairs always seemed handy in old western flicks, for various quick exits prodded by intrusion from enraged husbands to sheriffs to vengeful outlaws.

Though it eats up more space, decided to use a portable air-conditioner for the She Shed. A lot easier to hook a duct to a cut-to-fit panel than redesign one of those small windows.

Wish the Ukraine team had a mascot or more of a nickname. But I guess "Go Big Blue and Yellow!" is kind of reminiscent of rah, rah, rah, "Go Big Red!"

It’s been raining a lot here, like an all-of-a-sudden downpour for a few hours and then sunshine the rest of the day. Lots of loud thunder and bright lightning, too. Summer is coming early…

 we have soo many colds and flu's going around at the moment now that people are starting to socialize a lot more.

my brother has taken up small scale farming he has years of experience in scientific farming and dairy farming so he is doing his own thing.

air conditioners . . . worth their weight in gold
we are lucky we don't get really hot weather but we get
really wet weather so mold(& respiratory illness) prevention is the #1 thing.

i think global climate change will bring heavy rain to previous locations which have only had medium rain
like turning sub tropical into tropical rain
i think we are seeing this already
so new flood zones will be created while other places have terrible droughts

Welcome back RU - I've had the something missing feeling for a while - you've just explained what it was.
Not much to report really.
Mrs C2's mother is now 100. I have to accept the possibility that Mrs C2 might well live to be 100 and try to plan accordingly - like house maintenance has to be simple without weird software and systems that will inevitably be out of date in less than ten years.
Add every possible non-slip feature to the external stairs.
You know how hair is with washing, combing, cutting and all that - I've definatly got hair by those standards but it doesn't show up in photographs.

with modern better diets and modern medicine and health care people are living longer which is great.
but it does extend those needs for better safer access to all areas.
i wonder if we will see a shift in commercial access standards in general society, possibly in shopping malls which need to be better built and designed for an older customer, better more spaced seating and possibly mobility scooter use being normalized.

maybe all mall shops can have little drive through windows on the front walk for mobility scooters to pull up and be served

i bought one of those vibrating teeth plaque removers made in china
2 for 1 price(i was going to post 1 to my brother as a present but now ive tried using one i wont, i dont want to give them away or sell them because i think they will do more damage than plaque removal)
cost me 100USD
complete waste of money
more chance of damaging your teeth than removing any plaque
my teeth have low enamel so i need depth penetration for stain removal bleaching
i tried it and its scary
don't buy one
