One of the motives of virtue-posturing males accepting feminism in the beginning (or feigning to) was because they believed liberated women were more promiscuous and interested in sex. There seemed to be something to that in the sex revolution of the '60s on into the '70s and perhaps the '80s.

But gradually the sexual misconduct issues grew and grew until the #MeToo Sunday Massacre of activist idols like Weinsten, Charlie Rose, Al Franken, Garrison Keillor, Tavis Smiley, etc. (James Gunn instead got the boot for old homophobic humor on Twitter, but was soon predictably reinstated. Even that HBO documentary hit-job on Michael Jackson's pedophilic escapades was negated by family, fans, lawyers, and the entertainment establishment.)

Anyway, the intense focus on sexual misconduct is probably starting to bear a growing resemblance to the traditional, prudish days before the Sexual Revolution. When society at least publicly went out of its way to protect the dignity of women, despite being heinously compromised behind the scenes. It seems that no matter what ideological bandwagons the guys tactically jump on to try to lessen the hoops they have to jump through to get it, the past just eventually re-invents itself.
