Race politics, civil rights, & LBJ's big switch from INTIMIDATION to ENTITLEMENT as the means to control minority vote (a William J. Federer chronicle?)

NOTE: With respect to the most dead-on Lyndon B. Johnson quote, which is sourced from a Ronald Kessler book, there is this Snopes entry that -- while being agnostic about that particular egregious meme -- nevertheless admits that even it would hardly be out of sync with LBJ's personality and agenda behind the public, career facade.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/lbj-vo...emocratic/

excerpts: There’s no question that Lyndon Johnson, despite championing the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and signing it into law, was also a sometime racist and notorious vulgarian who rarely shied away from using the N-word in private. For example, he reportedly referred to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 as the “_igger bill” in more than one private phone conversation with Senate colleagues. And he reportedly said upon appointing African-American judge Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court, “Son, when I appoint a _igger to the court, I want everyone to know he’s a _igger.”

[...] Circling back to the quote with which we started, it wouldn’t have been entirely out of character for LBJ to have said something like, “I’ll have those _iggers voting Democratic for 200 years,” but on balance we have to question its authenticity.

That's what Democrat propaganda has led many people to believe. It's a big lie.

Quote:The NRA was founded shortly after the Civil War by Union Army officers who were appalled by the lack of shooting skills among the Union soldiers during the war and determined to correct this problem by encouraging marksmanship among the general population, including former slaves in the former slave states. This made the NRA very unpopular by the Ku Klux Klan. Northern white liberals and clergy funded the NRA to purchase rifles and ammunition for the newly freed slaves under Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. The rifles were used by newly freed slaves to protect their homes and families from the lynching mobs of the KKK and Dixie-Crats.

Former U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant, who enacted the 1871 law declaring the Ku Klux Klan to be an illegal terrorist organization, was elected president of the National Rifle Association in 1883. Nine of the NRA’s first 10 presidents had fought against slavery during the Civil War. Including, Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, and Gen. Phillip Sheridan.

In fairness Syne has pointed this out on this forum - but is this generally known in America? It kind'a makes sense of the way a black activist and a white militiaman might sit down together and shake hands.

Democrat propaganda, though the schools and media, have led to many Americans believing the Republicans have always been the racists. And what few actual racists currently claim to be Republican, they do so believing the democrat lies that Republicans are their natural allies. Even though the current top dog of white supremacy, Richard Spencer, endorsed Biden for president, democrat-run cities and states are the worst for blacks*, etc..
