Airplane seating nightmare

As if seating on planes wasn't already uncomfortable enough, imagine staring at two strangers facing you for the entire 4 odd hours of your flight. That's what a seat manufacturer just filed a patent for. Not surprisingly, the internet is in an uproar. People love to complain about certain things more than others. Not getting enough sleep is one of them. Their recent plane trip is another. If this new design get's adopted, I swear to GOD I'll never fly again! There are limits to the torture one will submit to just to arrive somewhere quickly.

"Air travel may soon get a little more uncomfortable.

Zodiac Seats, the leading provider of airline seats, filed a patent last month that could completely change the way you travel in the sky.

Instead of traditional rows of seats, the company designed a hexagon seating arrangement for aircraft cabins. The design would require passengers to sit in alternating front or rear facing seats. If you are facing the front of the plane, the people on either side of you would be rear-facing, and most likely staring at you for the duration of the flight.

Now, leg room is at a premium, but the patent acknowledges that shoulder room might be hard to come by with the new design.

"The seats are positioned at the same longitudinal position within the cabin, so that the space needed at shoulder and arm area is limiting on passenger comfort," the patent says."===http://abc13.com/travel/company-patents-...s/837318/

I don't think that will work out too well. How are you suppose to actually get to a seat? It's bad enough squeezing passed a couple of people that don't want to step to the aisle when the seats facing the same way.

Creating a worse kind of Battery farm isn't really the best idea for flight in general, in fact it should really be the other way entire. Passengers want more room and they don't want to have to sell their worldly possessions to get it.
