My review of the movie the Mule starring Clint Eastwood

The movie "The Mule" had many crucial moments and was divided into a variety of story lines that all came together at the end. Its plot centered around the main character played by Clint Eastwood and his involvement in the triangle that included the DEA, the drug cartel and his closest family however there was not a great deal of violence. It began by showing him as a person with a long history in the community (since the 1950s) and his sudden questionable wealth. Who has had a dubious reputation with his family but is trying to do the right thing. There are a few allusions to the supernatural but no obvious mention of it although it is implied by the scenes. The story manages to make a wide range of thought provoking allusions that keeps us guessing till the end, where it then answers everything. The movie portrays Clint Eastwood as an old man trying to fit into modern times.

Overall it was an excellently directed movie and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. One of the year's best films.

Thanks. That one slipped by us in 2018, maybe because CE was getting to be such a old geezer. Hard to believe he's 90 now, as if instead of a Californian he believes he's a NYC Ashkenazi Jew who has a right to live as long as Mel Brooks or Stan Lee or Carl Reiner.
