Due to less salt, sugar, spices, etc... Circa a decade ago, I switched largely to frozen bags of mixed vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts, etc. That I would likewise pretty much microwave.
Now if I replace them with canned items, I often develop excessive stomach acid (or something along that line) and have to take alfalfa tablets or some other (far more expensive) green supplement to get rid of it. Apparently the frozen stuff was working similarly to alfalfa tablets and all that time keeping the heartburn effects in check.
Can't go back entirely to frozen, though, because (thanks to hubby's predilections) we've somehow managed to accumulate a surplus of cans that need to be disposed of.
