Nagasaki was bombed to force Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II. Chosen because of its vital shipyards and military factories, it became the target on August 9, 1945, when poor weather and mechanical issues prevented the bomber crew from striking the primary target, Kokura.

It was a valid military target and brought a quick end to a bloody war.

But we see how deep your disdain for the US runs.

The US nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki targeted and killed around 200,000, most of whom were innocent citizens. Japan only targeted Naval ships in Pearl Harbor, killing only around 68 civilians. The US committed a war crime plain and simple. It's a fact of history.

32,000 to 39,000 people died per day during World War II, so a delay of 5-7 days in ending the war would have also killed 200,000. But measures like blockades would have taken much longer than that, and a ground assault would have been much higher in both civilian and military casualties. There was no Geneva Convention in 1945, so it was not a war crime.

Learn some history America-hater.

Murdering innocent civilians was and always will be a war crime because it is wrong. Learn to distingish ethics from legalism.

Japan had targeted civilians on par or even surpassing what Germany did. WWII had escalated to total war, where the Axis powers had been intentionally targeting civilians. Even including these mass casualty events, the Allies didn't even come close to killing as many civilians. Again, making ending the war a high priority, even for ending Allied civilian casualties.

Ethics takes in the whole picture, not one event divorced from the context, prior events, necessity, etc.. But thanks for continue to prove why your reply about Musk was, indeed, motivated by your anti-American sentiment. Just have to keep you talking long enough and you expose yourself.

Uh no...innocent civilians are never sacrificial lambs for the goal of ending a war. It's why they made it a war crime. There is no justification or reason for killing them EVER for any reason. Not so your country can win a war nor so you can get revenge on another country. They are inherently sacred and living souls. It is the whole foundation of our morality against killing each other, especially en masse as genocide. You'd have to be an unfeeling sociopath to try to justify the wholesale slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, children and babies for some dubious what-if.

So you would've preferred that Allied civilians continued to be killed in far greater numbers. Got it. Not a what if, just factual numbers.
Two cities is not genocide. And tell that to Iran, Hamas, China, Russia, North Korea, etc... today, not 1945. So they can just keep killing civilians, because anyone stopping them might lead to civilian deaths. Doesn't matter if they kill more civilians than we would, right?

I don't weigh the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, children, and babies against hypothetical future scenarios. That's batshit crazy. The fact that you even see that as a viable excuse for genocide exposes your inhuman depths. Of course it makes total sense. You're the one always mindlessly cheerleading Israel's relentless genocide of the Palestinian people.

That's a big "yes."
No hypothetical, factual numbers.
You absolute prefer to let Hamas keep killing civilians indefinitely.
Again, two cities is not genocide. Literacy is amazing!
You could have saved us a lot of time by just admitting you hate America.
