Hard to tell if this is a shot from a distance, perhaps from a crater rim and the dunes are much farther away. Then again could be small ripples of fine material next to some small rocks nearby. Which is it?

Would it be worth going to Mars to see a view like that every morning? I'm thinking 'yes' - particularly if Mars could be maintained as a spider free planet.

Probably this instrument on its arm:

APXS can refer to the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer, a scientific instrument on Mars rovers (like Curiosity and the MER rovers Spirit/Opportunity) that analyzes the elemental composition of rocks and soil.
