Four fully vaccinated in Oregon test positive for Covid

Four people in Oregon who received both doses of vaccine test positive for coronavirus

Four people in Oregon have tested positive for the coronavirus after receiving both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, health officials said.

There are two cases each in Yamhill and Lane counties, the state's Health Authority said in a series of tweets on Friday. The cases are either mild or asymptomatic.
...
The agency referred to the individuals who tested positive as "breakthrough cases," meaning that they got sick with the virus at least 14 days after receiving both doses.

The Health Authority said more breakthrough cases could pop up.

"Clinical trials of both vaccines presently in use included breakthrough cases. In those cases, even though the participants got Covid, the vaccines reduced the severity of illness," the agency said in a tweet.

Who said otherwise? I even quoted the article saying this occurred in clinical trials as well.

Insults aside..

Why would Syne post

?

We know (from Wiki) that the population of Oregon is 4.3 million.

The number vaccinated could be anything from 2 care homes in the counties identified which might be less than 50 people to over a million people - neither the reporter nor Syne care to make this clear. Lack of clarity is one of the best sources of fake news - you take 'some truth', subtract the context and present it as evidence to support whatever nonsense is going through your mind at the time - this is how people create fake evidence which (America being what it is) gains credibility by repetition.

It's in the news, moron. Even NBC thought it worth reporting. Or are you now imagining NBC is a right-leaning, fake news source? o_O

Again, neither that article nor I ever implied "it as evidence to support" anything. You're just jumping at imagined boogeymen. You've gotten yourself so worked up about the people you've demonized on the right that you've even conflated a left-leaning news source. If you don't feel like an utter fool, well, that maybe the bright side of senility.

I think this is the point that they were trying to make.

"Based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a Covid-19 vaccine may also help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get the virus. ... Getting as many Oregonians as possible vaccinated remains a critical objective to ending the pandemic."

I can see where you are coming from but Syne made the OP. In an election you count the votes and the one with the most votes counted is the winner - you don't even need 'experts' for this one - but not according to Syne.

'Experts' agree that that masks reduce the transmission of Covid 19 - Syne doesn't agree.

'Experts' seem to agree that lockdowns reduce transmission of Covid 19 - Syne doesn't agree.

'Experts' seem to think global warming is a something we should strive to prevent - Syne doesn't agree.

No 'expert' or indeed anyone is going to take much notice of a claim that the severity of illness was reduced in four cases out of four. Even if the four were matched like for like - vaccinated and unvaccinated - the likely error far exceeds any possible confidence level.

So, when the OP claims (there is no dispute about this) that you can still get Covid 19 even if you are vaccinated what the hell point is he trying to make? Is he a vaxxer or an antivaxxer?

"made the OP" is a genetic fallacy. "the one with the most votes counted is the winner...but not according to" is a straw man. "'Experts' agree" is an appeal to authority. All fallacies.

"what the hell point is he trying to make?" Why bother asking? It's so very obvious you've already decided, no matter what anyone tells you to the contrary.
