Americans want a four day work week

That said, I wouldn't want it to be thrust upon me in the form of a mandate. Not sure I'd really like an ongoing schedule of long 4 day workweeks, so I could have Fridays off. I'd have to experiment to see if I'd like it.
In many cases people just sleep all day Friday and on Sunday dread the long work week even more than usual. Smile

Lots of policies are ill-conceived with unintended consequences.

Is that whataboutism?
Do other such unintended consequences justify the unintended consequences of these?

My point is that a lot of polices are ill-conceived, no need to insert "leftist" in there. Of course that's pretty much all you do isn't it. This isn't a football team that you root for. No need to be a parrot.

It's meaningless whataboutism unless you want to actually cite a non-leftist policy.
Knowing what/whose policies you don't agree with is not rooting for your team or parroting anything. Or would you like to explain what conservative Republican policies you like? O_o

With Trump's Republican Party, I don't even know what "Republican" is anymore.

I like taxes to be closer to the way were just after Reagan than they were just before.

I liked the limited military interventionist policy of that time as well. I like free trade which used to be a Republican policy.

How's that?

You didn't cite any non-leftist policies with unintended consequences.

Just because you liked former Republican policies, doesn't mean you can actually name any current ones.

I voted for John Kerry too. Doesn't mean much now.

The tariffs with China are stupid as was breaking the Iran agreement. Trump doesn't have a lot of legislation to even discuss. He can't even get anything through his own party.

What is it that you like?

Quote:I like free trade which used to be a Republican policy.

the government leaders never did economics
they completely ignored how much tax money the government makes off taxation of the consumer market.
as that market moves to buying foreign products in china, the government is loosing billions in tax revenue and they don't know how to tell the public how terribly flawed their economics are and how they failed terribly.
the ageing babyboomers are living a lot longer than they planned and now are demanding to have the government pay for their health care and food policing, etc... etc...

there is a lot of lies & trickery going on

a large part of trumps(republican) support is generated from those aging white people who feel something is terribly wrong and worried about them being abandoned by the government in their old age.
that is why the gun lobby is only getting stronger, because it is feeding off the fear of the babyboomers being abandonned by their own government that they chose.
its pretty messed up
Republicans can never own up to that to fix it
so they are in a race to the bottom/Armageddon

simply look at the suicide rates in the usa by gun & by oxycodin/opioids and you can clearly see the society is nose diving out of control

You're not giving me anything to work with here. Unless you like any current Republican policies, it's hypocritical to say anyone else is rooting for one team, as you obviously, exclusively favor one yourself. And unless you can name some non-leftist policies with unintended consequences, then that argument of yours is a meaningless tu quoque.

Anything else is a red herring, and I'm not biting.
