The US Shot Down a Mysterious Enemy Drone Over Syria
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/artic...over-syria

EXCERPT: A US Air Force F-15 jet fighter has shot down a large, armed drone that attacked pro-US forces near At Tanf, a strategic town in southeastern Syria near the border with Iraq. The aerial clash on June 8, 2017 was the first time that an American warplane had engaged an armed enemy drone in the sky—and could be a preview of dangers to come as more and more rogue states acquire cheap, sophisticated, armed robotic aircraft. It's unclear who operated the drone, which US Central Command—the regional headquarters that oversees the wars in Iraq and Syria—described as "pro-regime." public media have reported several articles on iranian drone technology over the last 10 to 15 years or soo.
like all countrys selling weapons... anyone could buy one for sale.

poses a question. is it legal to fly & operate a drone in the US with weapons on it ?
is an armed drone covered by the open carry laws ?

Already existing rules about aircraft would have barred armed drones.

But in the past, the FFA admitted it's pretty impotent when it comes to remedying the banal privacy fears from spying drones. Whether that's do to with insufficient laws on the books or also being woefully understaffed for handling such a challenge.

i read smewhere that once you make an item airbourne it comes under the aviation act...

just very quickly speed read this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulation...ted_States

it seems to say that it is not illegal unles defined by a local police authority.
thus i ponder if there is no actual law makng it illegal (a bit of a surrise to me)
