I just realized how much these masks are hindering our communication skills. I felt like my hands were tied. Adults get it but babies, not so much. I don’t think that I’ve ever encountered a child that didn’t return a smile. I never really gave it much thought before but this virus is going to have a big impact on their speech and social development.

I agree that babies need to see our mouthed facial expressions and even how speech is formed.

I realized that by wearing the mask in public spaces one can actually laugh or sneer at something without being branded. So it also has its advantages.

One woman was having trouble breathing because she was pregnant. She wanted permission to not wear the hijab during her pregnancy. Permission denied. I can’t even imagine.

On the upside, I’ve never had any botox. I can still raise my eyebrows.

"Generation C" seems to have originally referenced "Connected Consumer", and had more to do with a mindset than an actual age group.

Along comes the pandemic, though, and the label has apparently been appropriated for babies born during it -- and might eventually persist as a starting-point marker for those born seven or more years after 2020 (thereby also replacing the tentative "Generation Alpha" for those born after 2012). Not sure why "generation" began shrinking from 20 to 25 years to fifteen year intervals. Might be due to the media being hyper-doped to discuss the issues of a new one as soon as possible.
