Seemed a bit short for what was originally supposed to be a cinema film. Could attribute that to the way it just got straight to the job it was supposed to do without detours into plot sideshows and character interactions/conflicts. Tom Hanks's facial expressions sufficing for the personality drama and insights.

I liked it in terms of action/suspense and special effects. Which is all I've got when it comes to this genre. I wouldn't recognize the well-weathered tropes of war flicks if I stepped on one and it squealed.
