I like the expression itself of "hot buttered rum". Sometimes I envy Japanese advertising, in their being able to recruit English words and phrases with little concern for what they mean in the Anglophone world.

"Hot buttered rum..." continuously uttered by a sexy Nipponese voice in the background of a commercial as a bicycle company shows off its latest two-wheeled products (actors riding them).
