haha You have to believe to see them?  Big Grin

They turn your smartphone into a telescope and provide tons of information about the planets, constellations, etc. They even allow you to travel back through time and see the planets at earlier stages. Some of them even allow you to point the phone downward and peek right through the earth to see what people on the other side of the world are seeing.
I've seen those ''Star Walk'' apps and have wondered if they're any good. Sky Live received many positive reviews, so might try that one. Thx SS!

Going to watch the harvest moon tonight with my new telescope! I'll post pics if I get some good ones. Smile

Well, I didn’t buy the telescope I linked above but bought a cheaper one. I have to buy a separate phone adapter and I need to learn how to use this properly. The lenses are confusing and “finding” the moon and following it, it’s harder than it seems! Big Grin

The details of the moon tonight were good but I feel like something is off...like the details according to the manual, should be more vivid. But, all in all ...for a semi-cloudy night? It’s pretty cool. I need to play with it some.

An update, I just came from outside...the moon is so bright, it's lighting up the entire yard...it's cool to see my shadow at this hour lol

I adjusted the lens and I didn't realize you look through a different scope to ''target'' what you're looking for (which takes time, and my head needs to be tilted to the right over the telescope to get it centered), and then look through a lens to see the target. For some reason, the telescope shakes a bit, I tried to tighten the knob to the side that holds it in place, but it was still shaking. Not shaking a lot, but occasional shaking. But, I just focused on the moon, and it's so bright! When I stepped away from the telescope, I could see black circles...I wasn't expecting that. Anyway, this is all new to me, but very exciting. I'm getting the hang of it.

I can't believe how bright the moon is tonight, when looking at it through a telescope.

Hope you have some entertaining hours with the 'scope, Wegs. My brother was carrying the amateur astronomer genes on in our family. Fast forwarding, I'm not sure Hubby would know which end to look through, and can't say I'd be much better.

haha Thanks CC. Yea, it's a little trickier than I would have expected. I'm going to see if it's a clear night on Friday...and try again. Going to invite some of my friends over, and see if it becomes any easier after a glass of wine or two.  Big Grin
