Google drought stress on tree roots.

That's not what I'm questioning, and you'd know it, if only you could read.

It looks like you’re trying to point out that we’re not experiencing a drought because I said "soggy soil," but who knows with you.

I'm pointing out that trees in a drought can only be helped by water in the soil. Are you saying the trees were already dead before the wet season?

Weakened or dead, yes. It's a mess here. They fall in the spring when the rain and winds pick up. If you’re in need of free firewood, come to Northern California. It’s all over the place, cut up, and ready to load.

There's the bit we were missing.

Just got my second jab of Moderna. Same place, same white tent, but more chaotic and disorganized this time for some reason.

Shot was about 6 hours ago and apart from some minor swelling and soreness around the injection site, no adverse effects so far. Feel fine.

Spoke too soon. Today, about 20 hours in, I started to notice a very slight headache and a general feeling that something wasn't quite right. It wasn't particularly unpleasant, just not right.

That feeling has evolved into severe chills up to the point of shivering. I felt very tired and retreated to bed where I defeated the chills with blankets, and fell into a fitful sleep filled with rather entertaining dreams. (Mostly about the Boca Chica Starship... which I spent most of yesterday thinking about.)

The nurse that jabbed me did say that the most common reactions were fever and chills. Guess that was right.

Perhaps you still have a strong immune system. I've yet to encounter anyone some years beyond MR's age that experienced the major side effects from the 2nd shot. Or maybe those retirees and cane/walker folk are keeping mum for the public good when it comes to listeners beyond their closer relatives. (Mine sure didn't have much to complain about, though.)

I feel pretty good again Sunday morning. Pretty much back to normal.

So if anyone is worried about getting the vaccine, if my experience is anything to go by, there isn't much to worry about. I felt kinda crappy (but not really bad) for about half a day.

It's a genetically engineered vaccine, but I find that I still have only one head and haven't grown Hellboy style horns.

It's ironic that the Europeans refuse to import gmo modified crops from the US while at the same time sneering at allegedly "anti-vax" Americans because some Americans express worries and hesitation about rush-developed covid vaccines. (Even while similar numbers of people in Europe express similar worries and hesitation.)

Well there goes my incentive.

Paradoxically, the leftangelicalism of Europe seesaws between both antinaturalism and technophobia. They welcome the liberation from biological/evolutionary constraints that the artificial can provide now and in the future for social justice. But are paranoid about it when it comes to food, environment, disease treatment, etc.
