Just wondering, do other people from say sciforums etc know about this site? I was invited here a couple of years back, but I think that a few others would enjoy it here.
Can we invite others here? |

Don’t think Stryder would mind but I don’t know about TSF. I'd ask a few people discreetly, but yes, something to think about.
Back in 2016, several of them were invited over, but most of them bailed over time or only after a few appearances. A large chunk of the TSF's cast was briefly here during a transition period of waiting for that forum to be revived -- and again, they just didn't seem fond of the place for one reason or another. A handful of exceptions (from whichever group) remained, of course, including confused2, Zin, and you.

Yea, I thought I saw a few people wander over here over the past couple of years, but I've noticed a few on sciforums who I don't think have any clue about this site, so I might spread the good news. If several of them could arrive over here circa the same time, so that they've got more than a couple of familiar challengers to wrangle with, then they might possibly hang around longer. Otherwise, it could be the usual pattern of them arriving singly, kicking the dust around in a couple of corners of town, peering into the blacksmith shed, and expectorating a chaw into the spittoon at the barber shop before moseying on down the road. The forum format? The absence of a huge ban list? The limitation on censorship and moderation? Perhaps the concern over who the data comptroller is? I can make adjustments and explain things where due should I actually know the question, otherwise I'll just be outputting random answers to questions that nobody asked. Examples: "It was connected with a Bracket." "15-Love." I've taken hiatuses as work/life gets in the way of forum-ing, and maybe people just lose touch. But, some of your thoughts above could make for a brilliant conspiracy theory. |
