Hate crimes against UK Muslims soar by 593% after New Zealand mosque shootings
https://inews.co.uk/news/anti-muslim-hat...tell-mama/

INTRO: The recent terror attack in two New Zealand mosques which left at least 50 people dead has sparked a massive rise in anti-Muslim hate crimes in the UK, an independent charity has warned. Figures seen by the Guardian found that reports rose by 593 per cent in the week following the atrocities, with more recorded hate incidents in the last seven days than following the 2017 bombing of the Manchester Arena. Tell MAMA said they had received 95 reports of hate crimes between 15 March (the day of the attack) and 21 March, with some 89 per cent making direct references to the attack. Several were also reported to have made reference to a gunman firing at Muslims... (MORE)

What's going on with the UK economy?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47655114

EXCERPT: More than 1,000 days since the referendum, and with the clock ticking down to 29 March, the path of Brexit remains unclear. Ahead of the 2016 vote, the Treasury warned that leaving could damage the economy. And yet, for all the political turmoil and uncertainty, the economy continues to trundle along - and appears to be doing very well on some fronts. [...] were those warnings from the Treasury merely "Project Fear": fairy tales in themselves? Time to check the temperature of the UK economy.

Employment is at record highs, unemployment at its lowest for almost 45 years. Wages are growing at their fastest rate for a decade, with pay rises typically outpacing the cost of living. [...] The economy expanded by 0.2% in the latest three months - and by 1.4% across 2018; steady but lacklustre. [...] With prices rising by 1.9% in the year to February - within a whisker of the official target of 2% - inflation appears to be the Baby Bear bowl of the bunch: just right. [...] For over a decade, the base rates set by the Bank of England have been below 1%; great news for borrowers, less so for savers.

[...] So, overall, where are we? For now, the economy's in a decent state. But not all fairy tales have happy endings. The last time the US economy was widely deemed to be in a Goldilocks state, the financial crisis swiftly followed. With much of the global economy slowing again, and the risk of a disruptive Brexit lingering, the UK economy could be in for a few twists and turns. (MORE - details)

British PM May facing plot from minister to oust her: Sunday Times reporter
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-brita...9&&rpc=401

RELEASE: British Prime Minister Theresa May is facing a full-blown cabinet plot to remove her and 11 cabinet ministers have said they want her to resign, The Sunday Times’s political editor said. “A full blown cabinet coup is under way tonight to remove Theresa May as prime minister,” Tim Shipman said. Shipman quoted one unidentified cabinet minister as saying: “The end is nigh. She will be gone in 10 days.” May’s de-facto deputy, David Lidington, is one contender to be interim prime minister but others are pushing for Environment Secretary Michael Gove or Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Shipman said.

Terrorism fears as 3,000 UK children a year go to 'jihadi' schools in Pakistan, secret government report reveals
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...istan.html

EXCERPT: A secret Government report has warned that more than 3,000 British children are being taken to Pakistan each year and enrolled in extremist summer schools. The chilling Home Office study says courses at madrasas teach a 'glorified version of jihad', according to a source. Officials fear some youngsters will be radicalised and return to the UK with a warped ideology and pose a terrorism risk. 'It is highly likely that this education in Pakistan, even for short periods of time, increases the risk of exposure to extremism for British-Pakistani children,' the source told The Mail on Sunday. [...] Two of the 7/7 bombers, Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, enrolled on madrasa courses in Pakistan a year before they launched their deadly attack in 2005, which killed 52. (MORE)

So is Trump also supposedly to blame for these hate crimes in the UK, when the US isn't seeing a comparable rise?

On this occasion HC refers to hate crimes, not highly confidential or indeed Hilary Clinton.
