EXCERPT: Meghan Markle, a.k.a. Our Princess of the Resistance™, has once again upset those in royal circles by speaking her mind about politics. [...] Unofficial royal protocol has, since the 17th century, dictated that the royal family refrain from publicly expressing their political opinions since the reigning monarch's role is to represent everyone. However, there is no actual law forbidding Markle to talk politics. There's also zero protocol saying she can't express her opinions at the dinner table, with her own friends or Harry's.

[...] Perhaps it should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle, faced with betrayal on an epic scale by her father and sister, is said by sources to be withdrawing from existing friendships and struggling to build a circle of confidants in the new world into which she has parachuted.

[...] “There never seems to be anyone with her except a cop following at a discreet distance. She does not seem unhappy but she does seem very solitary,” says the local. The source says there rarely seem to be visitors to their house, and when the couple do venture out to nearby Soho Farmhouse with friends, Meghan is always with Harry and people from his circle of buddies, not hers. [...] the British elite are notoriously gossipy and mean about outsiders joining their ranks, and Meghan is struggling to build a group of supportive pals in the wider community.

The writer Lady Colin Campbell, a confidant of Lady Diana’s with good contacts among the wider family [...] told The Daily Beast: “Her politics are an issue. She is ultra-liberal and that trendy-lefty stuff does not go down well with some of Harry’s friends. He has introduced her to them all at parties and weddings and private dinners, but she is very anti- a lot of the things that their world functions upon, such as shooting.

“Everybody discovers after marrying into the royal family how solitary and arduous an existence it can be. Meghan has already begun to discover this. However, because of her track record as a successful actress who has made her own way in the world, she may have the tools to cope with the solitary nature of her existence in a way that few others could have. Diana really struggled with the solitary nature of being a royal, although she often ended up being alone because of her own miscalculations; she blew hot and cold and people got fed up.

"Diana's life was more isolated than it would otherwise have been. It is apparent that beneath her charm Meghan can be rather tough, her challenge is to maintain the new relationships she builds.”

Casually speaking...Nothing compares to a living tourist attraction. Graffiti on the Great Wall, a bus atop the Eiffel Tower, or a moustache drawn on the Mona Lisa  are one time events that might pique our curiosity but most of us would be satisfied seeing it on TV. Give me a pair of adorable Pandas and I can attract the world . Attract the world and you might as well print money.

The drama of life is what really excites us and the Royals are as intriguing a spectacle as there is. Besides the tourist dollar there are several other avenues one can travel on to watch it play out. Tabloids, merchandise, and if luck would have it then a naked photo or sex tape emerges. The diversity of the allure is widespread and quite lucrative. I still see.Lady Di figurines for sale in the Niagara Falls souvenir stores.

Personally I don't care about Meaghan Markle, unless maybe one of those sex tapes, a la Paris Hilton showed up  Big Grin.  Jeezuz, how much advertising would that sell on social media? Nice.looking gal but she doesn't crunch my cornflakes.
