EXCERPT: The roundworms from two areas of Siberia came back to life in Petri dishes, says a new scientific study. ‘We have obtained the first data demonstrating the capability of multicellular organisms for longterm cryobiosis in permafrost deposits of the Arctic,’ states a report from Russian scientists from four institutions in collaboration with Princetown University. Some 300 prehistoric worms were analysed - and two ‘were shown to contain viable nematodes’. ‘After being defrosted, the nematodes showed signs of life,’ said a report today from Yakutia, the area where the worms were found. ‘They started moving and eating.

Cryogenic storage has a certain imaginative appeal. It supposes the possibility of immortality through suspended animation by freezing. The disadvantages were presumed to be an obstacle for cryogenic storage initially, but further observations including this one, hold it out as a promising prospect.

Jurassic Park maybe......They've found nematodes encased in amber hundreds of millions of years old. I tried to find something that might mention if an attempt was made to revive but no luck. I wouldn't think it possible anyways.

Reminds me of the movie LIFE. Frozen unearthly cell retrieved and revived to become The Flying Spaghetti Monster on steroids, or something like that..
