How does one 'perceive' a mind? (It doesn't seem to be a sensory matter. There are problems of how we experience our own inner states. Other-minds present even bigger problems.)
What kind of perception could justify the conclusion that whatever object is being perceived is "universal mind"? How is 'universality' perceived?
Not everything that people believe that they "perceive" is true or real. Attributing the experience to an "altered state of consciousness" makes objectivity and truth even less likely. (Countless psychotic delusions and hallucinations are evidence of that.)

Or that's what Christopher Langan calls it.
Of course I don't believe that Langan knows any more about fundamental metaphysics and the secrets of the universe than anyone else does.
Frankly, I find Langan and his ideas to be of very little interest.
