Unlimited Editing?

Who has it still?  Mine is gone.

Is it an unreasonable request to have it restored?

Stryder? What say you?

Stryder's hack probably didn't address the UI.

The delete button is probably only available for me circa the three minutes Stryder mentioned. Occasionally it does seem like five or more, which I'd actually be grateful for if it was really the case.

Oh, yeah, you're right.  It's there but it doesn't work.

I don't really care about the delete button. I just want unlimited editing.

I haven't missed used it. Take it away from MR, not me. Sad

I want it back, Stryder.

Editing period for me is perhaps one hour. Just as long as it doesn't get as short as what it seems like at SciForums sometimes. Of course, I wouldn't complain about a return to unlimited, either -- but that's probably unrealistic at this point. Unless MyBB software allows for only penalizing specific individuals in that way. (Might even be a good alternative to the banning craze of conventional web forums, including other privileges being mitigated as a spectrum of non-extinction options.)

Well, IMHO, Stryder should just put it back like it was.

Someone was bound to see the link before MR deleted it and someone did.  MR lost a forum privilege alright.  He lost his credibility and Syne should know now that he needs to not only link, but quote him, as well.

Stryder?  What say you?

To be honest the amount was 30mins for Registered members and 60mins for Respected members (which are literally just members that are vetted as active contributors) The values were originally intended to be 30/60min, It's possible that when I was addressing the problem I might have spotted and error in the group logic that was corrected (which previously gave unlimited edit time) The limitation on the edit time is set in "minutes" so naturally it would likely be assumed (from the panel) that you'd only be dealing in a few hours or so.

If you find the following reasonable I will set the edit period to 1 day (1440 minutes) and I can up the deletion time to say 10 minutes, the time was just a quick hack initially to get it working and as always I welcome your feedback into the equation in regards to the adjustments. (they weren't set in stone)

Yeah, that's fine by me.

The unlimited was nice, though.  I always leave out words.  It takes a long time for me to even notice it.  It just bugs me, that's all.  I even correct other people's mistakes before I quote them.  Not that I'm in a position to correct other people's mistakes because as you know, my grammar sucks.  I just like things neat and tidy, I suppose.

Thanks, Stryder!

Anything new with you?  What have you been up to?
