Woman won't give up purse - Rides through airport X-ray scanner

It happened in China. She put her suitcases on the conveyor belt, but tried to carry a large purse through. When told she had to put it through the x-ray machine, she put it on the belt, then climbed on the belt on all-fours to accompany it through. If I was security, that would make me really wonder what was in the purse.

I don't know what she was thinking. Did she believe little men hid inside the X-ray machine to steal items from her purse?

a lot of people in china, thus a lot of people who live day to day with all sorts of miss-information.
equally those with lower intellect and ability to comprehend various things.
large countrys like china and india, people can loose their entire lifes savings to one single criminal and there is no government support to pay for their loss, insurance is just another scam, and chinese culture is anti-insurance.

it actually does not surprise me.
i am more concerned with the machinery not having a kill-switch that a customs agent could hit to prevent her being pulled into the machine while it was switched on.
if she blocks it up(faints, gets stuck, has a heart attack, has a stroke, has a siezure) it would cause  many major issues

Apparently, many Chinese celebrate Chinese New Years with gifts of big wads of cash (in small bills, presumably). So speculation seems to be that this woman had a lot of money in her purse (or if she was poor, at least a lot of money for her). So she may have been paranoid about losing it.
