Hardly a trend for "adulthood extinction conspiracy" theorists like me to get alarmed about, either. Paint by number kits go back to 1951, and this would seem to just be a minimalist version of it: Get rid of the numbers, replace the more expensive paint set with a box of crayons (er, colored pencils).
