13th Severed Human Foot Washes Ashore in Vancouver Island

Lots of speculation about human traffickers or gang murders. But the RCMP isn't worried. They say that 12 of the feet came from 6 individuals, and none of them seem to have died by criminal means.

That still leaves the question of how they died, how the RCMP knows how they died, and why it's always feet washing ashore.

I still think that there's something weird and creepy about this.

There's not much meat on a human foot. Just bone, sinew, and tough gristle. Maybe that's the part that doesn't get consumed by the fish.

Cant pull up the link but shouldn't funeral home workers in and around the island under suspicion? Some weirdo with a foot fetish and plenty of feet at his/her disposal. Never think to look at the deceased's feet in an open casket, no glimpse in a closed casket. What happens during cremation .....does someone get a chance to chop off feet when no ones looking before lighting the torch?

Only mystery I see is why this "suddenly" started happening in 2007.

Maybe this had been occurring for decades before, but was simply ignored as part of a pattern or not selectively connected together until that year? Perhaps it was due to five feet "rapidly" washing up in only a span of months (2007 to 2008); and that established a pattern / connection in the minds of authorities and the public which they kept alive afterwards?

My money is on someone in the funeral business either chopping off feet to satisfy his own jollies or is getting paid (by the foot ) to satisfy someone else's.

Afterthought: Gravediggers? Cemetery Owners? Morgue workers? Medical researchers? Anyone with access to a cadaver(or parts of) when no ones looking and the body's either bbq'd, 6' under or sitting in a mausoleum.
