Not sure what my take is on this but I've always been of the opinion that if something unnatural to the human body is somehow allowed to enter, intentionally or not, then not much good can come from it. Isn't the incident rate for cancer very high for firefighters*? Considering all the crap they are exposed too I guess it would be expected.
