additional option for new posts option button ?

is it possible & err-go easy to have an option that can display the last set of (for example) 20 new posts and/or also, 20 new threads ?
maybe with a date option to be able to select new posts or new threads to a specific day range to allow a surfing ability of new threads & posts ?

I'm guessing that the MyBB system doesn't natively provide an option for such a degree of customization. Even the "Recent Posts" feature of some other boards (but not all) doesn't display a link & name for each new post, but only offers the last one in a particular thread that got moved up to the top of the list because of that activity. Of course, if you're already subscribed to existing older threads you'll get alerts for new posts to those. I disabled that because for whatever personal reason I seem to get annoyed by flurries of message alerts. Even though they might actually save me time.
