I was exactly where I thought I'd be...2.88 right/-0.87 libertarian. So as you can see...not far from center. But I wasn't surprised because I know what my policy goals are and why.

Where did you land?

Economic Left/Right: -3.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.95

I was surprised that I'm not closer to center, but...those questions!   Blush A bit leading.

So your ''dot'' was in the purple square, close to center?

Yeah, purple...about three squares right of center and one down. So...closer to center than you, surprisingly.
And yeah, the questions were likely intentionally leading...and a few quite ambiguous.

lol You're more centrist than me, that's funny.

Well, that's a limited test, but I think what trips people up are the ‘’strongly disagree/agree’’ options. I think for this test, there were a few questions that fit those choices for me. There should be an option for ‘’kinda strongly agree?’’ lol There are things I agree with, but with caveats, if that makes sense. But, these tests are designed to lead a bit. I still think it’s one of the more fun tests I’ve seen when it comes to one’s ‘’political compass.’’

In the US, maybe even the west in general, our perception of center has skewed over the last 20 years.

As you can see, if the center in 1994 was midway between the median of each party, the right moved significantly left of center until 2004 and the left NEVER moved right at all. So being more left-leaning, your perception of where the center lies is likely skewed a bit.
