SciForums huh? Years ago I retired Zinjanthropos, took on a new username and my doppelgänger's persona. Belligerent, nasty, unfeeling, obnoxious, arrogant, bullying, etc all in an effort to see if by being this way could I avoid being banned or suspended. After a couple years I think, I was still waiting for the hammer to fall. Never did and I eventually walked out when I started losing interest, running out of gas and venturing where I didn't want to go. In the end I was despised by many, adored by some and a complete mystery to others. How did I manage this without being axed you may ask. Well it's very easy, concentrate your venom, real or imagined and focus on anything related to religion or the paranormal.

Mods aren't stupid. They know what's popular amongst the membership. One can practically get away with murder with those two subjects as long as you keep the faithful entertained. No matter how I said things, it got people involved. However there is no way I will tell you my username back then because it should remain a mystery and I'm still a member in good standing....lol

I didn’t see that one coming

That’s exactly why Stryder should change 'respected members' to 'members only'.

Eventually, curiosity gets the better of you.

I’m not a foo foo girl. Keep your glitter to yourself. It’s offensive.

Let me explain.

POZZO: Good. Is everybody ready? Is everybody looking at me? (He looks at Lucky, jerks the rope. Lucky raises his head.) Will you look at me, pig! (Lucky looks at him.) Good. (He puts the pipe in his pocket, takes out a little vaporizer and sprays his throat, puts back the vaporizer in his pocket, clears his throat, spits, takes out the vaporizer again, sprays his throat again, puts back the vaporizer in his pocket.) I am ready. Is everybody listening? Is everybody ready? (He looks at them all in turn, jerks the rope.) Hog! (Lucky raises his head.) I don't like talking in a vacuum. Good. Let me see.

You’re making a big show out of interacting with others and praising the benefits of human connection while directly ignoring attempts at communication. You’re only focused on yourself, not others.

However, if just one other person is arguing my side of the argument, I find myself enjoying the argument again.

I’m with Syne on this one.  Just look at how you’re treating C C.  You sound a lot like Pozzo; "rope-stool-whip."  When you’re done, will you ask her to grab me a beer?

I’m not here to tell everyone else how to behave.  I can’t change the world.  I can only change my perception of it in order to accept it.  I’m not going to allow myself to be offended or distracted by Syne’s little condescending terms of address.  I still want to exchange hats with him. You’re just stomping on it because it doesn’t suit you.

And your reward is seeing them buy it, right?

My point is that I don’t think that this Olly guy is right.  I don’t think that Lucky can be viewed as the absurd hero.

Ben was curious if C C was just reciting like Lucky.  He was wondering if she had an opinion of own, but unlike Lucky’s incoherent thoughts, when we gave C C her hat, and asked her to think, she was on point.

C C is also in good standing at other forums, but not because her thoughts aren’t contrary to the popular standard.  She’s not seeking the best self-flattering world view, nor feeling the audience out to make an impression.  It’s because like you, most people don’t take the time to listen to her.  They’re too concerned about their own responses.  My advice would be to read C C replies, and before responding, go about your day, and then come back to them, read them again, and then take the time to look up the words that you aren’t familiar with.

Like you said before, this may be just a form of entertainment—a distraction—a video game, but C C has been playing for quite some time.  She may have a few cheat codes.  Big Grin
