Buddha on the Move

Driving back to the cottage the other day and decided to take a back road we never used before. Halfway down the road I said to my wife, "I think I just saw a big bald head in a field on the other side of that hill up ahead". I couldn't have been more surprised to see a huge Buddhist temple as we approached. I've never heard anyone ever mention it. Of all the temples built, this was one of the coolest I've ever seen. Still, why is it such a secret in these parts?

When first gazed upon it I thought I was looking towards the Valley of the Kings. $80 million that IMHO is a waste but it's only a drop in the bucket these days. The monks were happy and that's always good.

It sounds like Odiyan here in Northern California. Totally flabbergastingly mind-bogglingly amazing, but virtually unknown. I think that's the way it wants to remain. They figure that those who need to know about it know about it.
