''If everybody became a poet, the world would be much better. We would all read to each other.'' - Nikki Giovanni
Quote of the day |
"All our language is composed of brief little dreams; and the wonderful thing is that we sometimes make of them strangely accurate and marvelously reasonable thoughts. What should we be without the help of that which does not exist? Very little. We can love only what we create.' ― Paul Valéry, The Outlook for Intelligence
“The library, Janet used to say, is one of only a few places in the world that one doesn’t need to believe anything or buy anything to come inside.” - The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth
“A mind stretched by new experiences can never go back to its old dimensions.” - Unknown author
Completely agree. Sometimes, even a bad experience helps us to grow and you simply can’t “return” to the person you were before it happened.
“Soul is found where life deepens us, where meaning calls to us, where trouble deters us, wherever and however we slow down in the midst of the rushing and racing at the surface level of life.”
― Michael Meade, Why the World Doesn't End: Tales of Renewal in Times of Loss
“Why are we afraid of the silence that ensues after our death? Wasn’t it the same silence we endured before birth? Isn’t it the same silence we revel in when we are completely immersed in the present moment? Let us not be afraid.”
― Kamand Kojouri
“So, then, in general metaphysical terms, our expression is that, like a purgatory, all that is commonly called "existence," which we call Intermediateness, is quasi-existence, neither real nor unreal, but expression of attempt to become real, or to generate for or recruit a real existence.”
― Charles Fort, The Book of the Damned
“There isn't so much to be afraid of, out there. I can remember thinking it was funny to find that out, on the last night of my life; I'd spent the rest of it being afraid of everything.”
― Nick Hornby, A Long Way Down
“There had been times when he knew, somewhere in him, that he would get used to it, whatever it was, because he had learnt that some hard things became softer after a very little while.”
― Nick Hornby, About a Boy
"As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out the present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care, and love - even the most simple action."
~ Eckhart Tolle |
