Projection Mapping

I'm currently looking at projection mapping as a potential business avenue.  This is where a particular scene (say the gable end of a house) is picked to project imagery onto, then animations can be played via a projector to turn it into a light show.

Here's a couple of examples:

Software wise I'm looking at:
FaçadeSignage

As for projectors, that's still an unknown factor as I've been working out the difference between using a single high lumen projector versus a stack of lesser lumen projectors.

(I've come to the conclusion that lesser lumen projectors have a higher diffusion level, so when stacking multiple lower lumen projectors while indeed it makes it brighter it's not as sharp.  The ideal mix would be to have a high lumen projector acting as lead, with lesser projectors adding softness and colouration.)

I'd have to look into what animations to make etc (I'd likely use Blender for most of it)

On top of that is then the audio output that would be required.  In any sense I'm consider at least looking into a prototype production to see if it's something viable.  I just thought I would mention it as even if it's non-viable, it's still something to awe at on occasion.

Wow, I’ve never seen anything like that before even at Disneyland.  I haven’t been in a while, though. I think that Syne dabbles a little in animation.

Very cool, Stryder!  I wonder what it looks like in person.  If you do create something, I hope you’ll share it. How fun!

BTW, If I had that kind of talent, I’d bring the Villa of Mysteries to life.  That would be a cool creation for a museum.

I will definitely post more should viability be proven.
