New discovery shatters previous beliefs about Earth’s origin

RELEASE: A new study led by Western University's all-star cosmochemist Audrey Bouvier proves that the Earth and other planetary objects formed in the early years of the Solar System share similar chemical origins -- a finding at odds with accepted wisdom held by scientists for decades. The findings were published today by the journal Nature.

Bouvier, the Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Planetary Materials and an Isotope Cosmochemistry professor in Western's Department of Earth Sciences, made the game-changing discovery in collaboration with Maud Boyet from the Magmas and Volcanoes Laboratory at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

With data uncovered through thermal ionization mass spectrometry, Bouvier and Boyet demonstrated that the Earth and other extraterrestrial objects share the same initial levels of Neodymium-142 (142Nd) -- one of seven isotopes found in the chemical element neodymium -- which is widely distributed in the Earth's crust and most commonly used for magnets in commercial products like microphones and in-ear headphones.

In 2005, a small variation in 142Nd was detected between chondrites, which are stony meteorites considered essential building blocks of the Earth, and terrestrial rocks. These results were widely interpreted as an early differentiation of the interior of the Earth (including the crust and mantle) and these chondrites within the first 30 million years of its history.

These new results from Bouvier and Boyet show that these differences in 142Nd were in fact already present during the growth of Earth and not introduced later, as was previously believed.

"How the Earth was formed and what type of planetary materials were part of that formation are issues that have puzzled generations of scientists," says Bouvier, Curator of the Western Meteorite Collection and also a principal investigator at Western's Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration (CPSX). "And these new isotopic measurements of meteorites provide exciting answers to these questions about our origins and what made the Earth so special."

By using vastly improved measurement techniques, Bouvier and Boyet deduced that different meteoritical objects found in the Solar System incorporated the elements neodymium (Nd) and samarium (Sm) but with slightly different isotopic compositions. These variations in stable isotopes also show that the Solar System was not uniform during its earliest times and that materials formed from previous generations of stars were incorporated in various proportions into the building blocks of planets.

I considered something in relationship to the moon's effects on Earthquakes and Volcanos a couple of months back. While the consideration of stresses caused by tidal movement is understood, I actually considered if the moon has a lesser effect on molten magma. While it's not as fluid as water, it's still a fluid while at temperature. I wondered what actual effect an underground magma lake would have on both tectonics and volcanoes.

Another point on earthquakes is something I considered from my very limited understanding of Carbon Dating and permanent magnets. Hypothetically when rock is set from it's molten state, it's magnetically aligned to the poles that exist at the given time. This means as time moves on and the magnetic poles shift, it causes strains on the permanent position of entire plates adding to tectonic shift (at least in theory). Again I assume the moons cycles effect polar alignment to an extent.

Further still on theory with alignment was a consideration that steel made in one part of the world will stress different compared to steel made elsewhere, again due to the magnetic alignment of where it's manufactured. this means if a building was made from steel form two different steel yards from around the world, that it could theoretically be weaker than if only built from one yards supply.

Your point touches on something i have been pondering. has profit based science morphed common scientific investment(fiscal & intellectual) into an over simplified cause & effect
process that has detracted from longitudinal complex algorythmic study ?
(thus things that have a small collective impact are distanced as a non related insignifigant data type ? private health insurance litigious process to abandon liability as a cultural imputus ? )

i digress... electroconductivity of rock / planetary and radio frequency field generation/actuation...
solar storms, planetary alignment, vulcanological actuation etc etc...
-risk of scaring the flock... what electrical effect does accidification have on the planets RV electrical body ?(note i use the word body because the Electro-magnetic field and electrical state of the planet and the magnetosphere are in effect a living entity subject to change and process etc)

(magnatisation)Yes, that is what they purport thus far and was somewhat of a breakthrough idea to show the actual change/movement of the magnetic poles etc...
there was crypto-archio-meteorology suggesting global weather may be affected by pole shifts and/or what relation that has to ice ages and the dawning reality of global warming/global weather cycles.

i would tend to agree with you on this completely. ignoring the electro-magnetic nature of the earth is like suggesting humans can not get killed or injured by electricity because humans are not electrical beings. (qwasi-pseudo-science posing as a know-it-all by those who have no real scientific knowledge or ability.)

1. how the steel is mixed and polarised is probably more the question
- is it allowed to settle to a natural state of insular self determining magnetic field ?
- does steel bond its self to a positive or negative attomic state ?
-does heating the steel in the steel making proces de-polarise/de-magnatise it and or magnatise/polarise it ? (maybe this is the primary question)
[i know next to nothing about steel forging]

2. if steel is infact magnetic once it is made into steel what type of electro-magnetic resonance does it have and how does that effect and be effected by radiant energy ?
2.1 Does steel that is magnetic and used in a connected(electrically by radiant or direct) state create an electrical state ?

3 repellant and magnetic states of steel and how they bond or repel as a cohesive force to affect the primary stuctural integrity of a single or group of buildings ?


- a thought... a magnetic state of a building may cause people to become sick as it disrupts the bodys ability to maintain its auto imune system and fight bacteria and viruses...
-my personal opinion = additionally overly magnetised fields create emotional effect on humans. the higher the electrical field the more angry and negative the people become and or charged to which they need to de-charge(earthing, exercsing, foods).

my hypothesis is that the overall electro-magnetic effect of all factors on the earth have direct effect on earth quakes and that given we can potentially measure all this we can in turn potentiate a predictional formatmof cause and effect expectation due to electromagnetic and torsion torsion build up/fields.
