Exactly. The only way a rival or favorite opponent could get kicked out of here is if they did something illegal, were extremely disruptive or destructive to the board, etc. For any lighter infractions Stryder has that "Empty Room" isolation chamber that they would be confined to posting to until they got their act together, rather than being potentially outright banned temporarily or whatever would otherwise be the case elsewhere.

Quote:oh and hey! How does Babe have a higher reputation rating than me...shes at 9 and I'm at 7 and I have 2 more posts! Admit it....it's because she's better looking than me. I can accept that.

I keep telling hubby that he needs to dress better at public events and award ceremonies. Wink

Oh, and just to let the staff of this board to know what's going on at "The Science Forums". The owner has not been able to be contacted in months. He might be dead. We had a coup d'etat by one of the admins....Who managed get the other admin blocked from his account, and de-modded A well liked mod on his own personal will. It's been really fucked up.

It was by pure chance that things corrected themselves. A database error lost 2 years of the forums posts....but returned the Admin stance of the blocked admin, and returned the mod status of the well liked to mod. It's been fucked up.

We have no idea what will happen when the domain expires later this year. So we need options.

Thanks for the update -- or outright news to me. When the behind the scenes politics doesn't spill into the "site" or "gov" sub-forums at the bottom, then I have little idea of what drama is transpiring over there. Some days I'd even miss that stuff if it doesn't stand-out in a glance-over of "New Posts".

Mr. Mac, you showed up.  Right on!  Ya, I was even thinking about inviting Farsight.  He’s pretty nice.  He also has given me free access to a few pricey and interesting peer reviewed papers over the years.

Now that cooking is no longer a requirement, I’m actually starting to enjoy it.  I’m hoping you’ll post a few of your recipes.  I tried a rib eye one recently.  It was pretty good.  I’ll post it in the food section. Do you have a Cheesecake Factory where you live?  It’s one of my favorite restaurants.  I found a copycat recipe for their key lime cheesecake.  It turned out perfect.

Glad to have you aboard!  I’ve read a few of your poems.  You’re good.  Hopefully, you’ll create a poetry thread and post a few of yours.  I noticed that one of your old stomping grounds isn’t too far from me.  I live in a nearby county.  I have explored that area a little, though.  Fern Canyon was awesome.  I could see why Spielberg chose that location for Jurassic Park 2.  It was beautiful. I recently discovered an old abandoned town near there called Fort Seward.  There was an old train station, gas station, and school.  It was so far out that there were no signs of vandalism.  I’ve also hiked the lost coast trail.  Did you explore the area at all while you were there?  Any recommendations?

Hey there, little Missy.  Long time, no see.  Believe or not, I was actually thinking about you the other day.  There's this beautiful forest nearby that I’ve been going to since I was a kid.  It’s amazing.  Giant redwoods, ferns, and deep blue springs.  It has fairy land written all over it.  I have two little nieces that I want to take hiking with me.  They’re really young with short attention spans.  There’s a lot of geocaches hidden there.  So, I thought I’d bury a few fairy trinkets.  I’ve been searching for a plan to build a cool fairy door, but I can’t find one that looks legit.   Any ideas for a door or trinkets?

Years ago, you linked a great workout song for me.  It was Audrey Napoleon-Mysunrise.  I still listen to it.  This is the one that I listen to when I’m hiking in the woods, but I need something for running and weight lifting. Do you have anymore?

Aw, I've missed seeing you. Cool

I wasn't active on sci forums for a while, but came back recently, and didn't see you around. It was nice to get an invite to here, and found out you're here.

Regarding fairies lol I still have a fondness for them. Regarding pixie dust, some ''folklore'' suggests that pixie dust can be found only in flowers, so maybe you could get a real flower and secretly put some glitter inside of the center, and then surprise your nieces with it. For trinkets, I'd buy some small jewelry boxes, decorate them with fake jewels and such, and put a secret surprise inside. Tell them that the boxes capture fairies and keep them safe. I like fairy folklore.  Big Grin

I was drowsy as all get out when I replied to this the other night. Obviously you were referring to an unfolding soap opera and events at a different forum than the one I foggily and reflexively thought about, when it usually comes to such.

I’ve lurked around there a little but haven’t posted anything. I was sort of reluctant because there was some sort of upheaval regarding Dywyddry and some guy named Harold, which bears a resemblance to the forum that you were thinking of. I’m glad that Mac explained it. I was wondering how Dywyddry recovered his position as moderator. He’s intelligent and witty and it looks like he just joined. I wonder if he’s a brit.

I believe I did visit it a couple of times in the past, and noticed familiar monickers posting there. But just went brain dead Saturday-Sunday (courtesy of Sandman) and forgot about it as the possible source and alternative residence / refuge where so many might be arriving from.
