Oregon School Shooting

[Yazata]

In Bend Oregon, about an hour ago and ongoing. At an elementary school!

Multiple victims, the police don't have a number yet. Multiple fatalities. Children are among the victims.

The first report the police received was shots fired into a car outside the school at 12:59pm. Police arrived about three minutes later. By that time the police were getting multiple calls about a shooter inside the school. The shooter was found dead inside the school, unclear who shot him. There is police scanner traffic, totally unconfirmed at this point, that suggest a father at the school engaged and killed the shooter.

Scanner says two patients transported to the hospital, one a "red patient". Calls for more ambulances. One call says "working cardiac arrest". Orders for two additional ALS (advanced life support) and two more BLS (basic life support) ambulances.

CBS News just reported "multiple people killed"

At approximately 12:59 p.m., Bend Police responded to Silver Rail Elementary on reports of an active shooter. The first call indicated that an unknown man had shot into a car.

In the next minute, Deschutes County Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting that a person had entered the school and begun shooting.

Dispatch sent out an alert tone to send all law enforcement to the scene. At 1:02 p.m., Bend Police officers were on the scene. Seconds later, officers reported the suspect had been shot and killed, possibly by a bystander.

At this time, we have confirmed there are multiple victims. At least two people were transported to St. Charles Bend. Their status at this time is not known. Children are among the victims.

Law enforcement is in the process of evacuating each classroom at Silver Rail Elementary. Students are being transported by Bend-La Pine Schools buses to Journey Church, 61303 S Highway 97, for reunification. We ask families and guardians to respond there.

There will be a large law enforcement presence in the area of the school and at Journey Church for the foreseeable future. Please avoid the area.
